The Best Guinness Cocktails for St. Patrick’s Day

by on March 9, 2017

With St. Patrick’s Day fast approaching, here’s some inspiration for making Guinness cocktails that will really get your pub, restaurant or bar noticed:

1. Guinness Martini (serves 2)

Elegant and delicious!

  • 100ml Guinness Draught
  • 50ml dark rum
  • 25ml cold espresso coffee
  • 25ml vodka
  • 25ml crème de cacao liqueur
  • A handful of ice

Add all of the ingredients to a cocktail shaker and stir well using a long cocktail spoon (the outside of the cocktail shaker should feel cold to touch). Then strain through a cocktail strainer and pour into your martini glasses.

You could garnish with a coffee bean, a cacao bean or a mint leaf.

2. Guinness Black Russian (serves 1)

A real crowd pleaser!

  • 100ml Guinness Draught
  • 100ml Cola
  • 25ml of any coffee liqueur
  • 25ml vodka
  • A handful of ice

Simply measure out the ingredients into a tumbler or hiball glass. Stir gently with a cocktail spoon and garnish with lime or mint leaves.

3. Black Velvet Black (serves 1)

Sophisticated and simple!

  • 1 part Guinness Draught
  • 1 part Champagne
  • Splash of Cassis

Pour the Champagne down the side of a champagne glass until the glass is half full. Then mix the Guinness with the cassis in a cocktail shaker glass using a cocktail mixing spoon. Carefully pour the Guinness and Cassis mixture over the back of a bar spoon until the champagne glass is full. (Tip: It is better if you don’t let the Guinness and Cassis mixture settle before you do this). The Guinness should then settle on top of the Champagne.

This cocktail doesn’t really need any extra garnish as it looks amazing on its own!

4. Guinness Black Magic (serves 1)

Unconventional and enchanting!

  • 200ml Guinness Draught
  • 2 teaspoons Grenadine
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 50ml Bourbon
  • 5 Blackberries
  • 1 Lime wedge
  • Handful of ice

Muddle the blackberries, Bourbon, Grenadine and lime juice together in a cocktail shaker using a cocktail muddler. Add a handful of ice to the cocktail shaker, put on the lid and shake it hard for at least 30 seconds. Pour the cocktail into a tumbler or hiball glass, add the Guinness and stir with a cocktail spoon.

Add blackberries and/or a wedge of lime to garnish the side of the glass.

5. Guinness Float (serves 1)

Sweet and indulgent!

  • 2 scoops of chocolate ice cream
  • 1 tea spoon of chocolate extract
  • 1 tea spoon of chocolate syrup
  • Guinness draught (3/4 pint)

You’ve all heard of a ‘coke float’?! So why not try our Guinness Float for St. Patrick’s Day? It’s a cocktail and a dessert all in one.

The recipe is simple! Add the chocolate ice cream, chocolate extract and chocolate syrup to a glass of cold Guinness Draught. Give it a little stir with a cocktail spoon, add a funky straw and bobs your uncle! This is an amazing alternative for any bar or pub looking to offer something a bit different for St. Patrick’s Day.

You could even garnish with more chocolate … mmmm ….

Enjoy!
